So excited to share the first of Weekending’s Favorite Things! I am craving Spring more then ever and these favorites are pretty, pink and fabulous!
Those are my favorite things right now! What are yours?
The week is flying by & I have been busy crafting up my largest Etsy order yet. I have been extra motivated lately and I am not really sure where the motivation is stemming from but I am loving it! I am looking forward to Valentine’s Day because, well, just because it’s the cutest holiday! Since I am so blessed to be spending the rest of my life with my valentine, I wanted to spread the love.
What better way then to send valentine goodies to some special people? I’m working on a big box of treats to inspire others to keep their hearts full and their dreams big. This is exactly how I have been feeling lately!
I want to start this project in my great state of Alabama. I have gotten in touch with the sweet folks at Children’s of Alabama and I can’t wait to start gathering goodies for the valentine package headed their way! I will be sending the obvious Valentine goodies like cards & candy. BUT then I will be adding fun stuff to help the children get (and stay) inspired! Photo update to come!
I will be brainstorming a lot this week but I would love any ideas y’all come up with! OR if you would like to partner-up with me, please email me @ email@example.com and I will give you my address so your contributions can be added to the package!
Yay! I have been making banners for all different parties for about two years now and I just love them! They are so fun and festive. And in my opinion, a necessity for any celebration! I finally took a few (mediocre) photos of a 10th birthday banner I made and added them to my Etsy shop.
I told the buyer that the banner would be cute over the birthday girls bed (especially if she separates ‘Natalie’ from ‘is ten!’.
My favorite part was the added glitter! I love my Martha Stewart “Fluorescent” Glitter, and I am always looking for a reason to break it out! I added fluorescent pink to “TEN!” to emphasize Natalie’s big day.
I can’t wait to add more banners for different occasions! But like I said before, one project at a time :) Happy Weekend, y’all!
So, remember how I said it was impossible to get a flower (and cake) consultation on such short notice? To my relief, a fabulous florist was available for our date AND was able to do a consultation over-the-phone! Flowers might possibly be my favorite detail of weddings, or even in life (right up there with glitter, hehe). We touched on so many different things:
Flower Girls’ Petals + Flower Crowns
Ring Bearer’s Boutonniere
WOW. That’s a lot of flowers, and that’s just for wedding party to wear! We also started looking into the flowers for the aisle, including aisle markers at the end of each row and pre-petalling the aisle (in case our little flower girls decide they don’t want to throw any petals)! We went over the whole “feel” we want at the ceremony and how our arch will look, etc. We have a lot of space on the lawn so it is important to me that the flowers do not look scarce. I have not narrowed down which flowers I want for the bouguets yet, because I love so many different styles. Here are my favorites…
With so many beautiful bouquets, how will I ever narrow it down? I just die a little for that last one. So not my normal style because it’s so colorful and bold… but I am really loving it! Anyways a few other photos of inspiration are for decor…
Honestly, what flower do I NOT like? Can’t think of a single one. We are taking our engagement photos tomorrow so I should have a busy, wedding-inspired weekend!
Yay! I am so thrilled to be a Southern Bride Blogger! Mainly because Southern Weddings is my favorite magazine & blog (and about 80% of my wedding inspiration). The other aspect I am excited about is becoming apart of blogging communities like this will (hopefully) inspire me to set more blogging goals for myself. I really want to improve my photography skills as well as my blogging frequency!
Last year, I was featured in their fabulous blog with the help of Honey Bee Invites‘ beautiful and creative stationary. This was so exciting for me, since I had just begun blogging and exploring hugely popular wedding blogs. I wanted to share the original post that we were featured in…
We entered photos of our most creatively, southern escort cards.. and WON! It was too much fun working on these. I made the mini, seersucker bow ties! After a few trial & errors and even more hot glue, they were perfect! Here are the photos from our entry… (notice: my fiancés name in first photo, before he was my fiancé, hehe)
…and here are the photos from our second entry that we did just for a good laugh!
Anyways, I thought it would be fun to go down memory lane. I can’t wait to share more wedding inspiration from Southern Weddings Magazine, myself & my other go-to blogs!
Today was our scheduled engagement session. And like any typical day in the south, the weather was unpredictable. In South Alabama, the sky was grey, air was muggy, and storm clouds were emerging. Thankfully, our sweet wedding photographers were able to postpone! Engagement session has been moved to this weekend and I am actually relieved to have a little more time to plan outfits, theme, etc!
We are taking out photos at the beautiful Fairhope Yacht Club. This location is perfect for Andrew and I, we are both lovers of boats and the coast.
I cannot wait to see the photos, I know they will be beautiful! We are planning on wearing casual, classic outfits.
Another nautical spin we added was on our Save the Dates. Here was our inspiration:

Our amazing stationer has already sent us our final draft and it is PERFECT! I am dying to post it but want to wait until our guests get them in the mail! Engagement photos coming soon :)
Ah! Finally! I had a full weekend of wedding planning in Rosemary Beach, FL. I cannot express the relief just two days has given me. Our date is quickly approaching and good friends of mine know the time I have spent stressing over the plans. But before I left for the trip I reminded myself of something I keep forgetting during the planning.
No matter how many flowers we have, or if they all die. No matter if the southern sky opens up and it downpours from sunup to sundown. No matter if the band doesn’t show up or the food is bad. Andrew and I will be married by May 19th, 2013 and that is ALL that matters. We keep reminding ourselves that all this time and money is strictly to celebrate with our loved ones, but ULTIMATELY those few minutes of vows and ceremony are all that matters, and all that will ever matter. :)
With that in mind, we headed to Rosemary Beach to finalize some plans this weekend! We met my dad down there and had the best time and got so much done! We are getting married on the St. Augustine Green (a beautiful lawn in the quaint town of Rosemary). We locked down catering, rentals, rehearsal dinner venue, & booked two beautiful beach cottages for the week (one for the bridal party). So thrilled! Next up is flowers and cake, which were near impossible to get consultations for on such short notice.
Now time to start getting inspired and creative with the details, my favorite part.
I just love both of these totes! Soft and pretty, but still a functional gift. I would like ours to say something traditional like, “Rosemary Beach, FL / May 18, 2013” so that the guests feel comfortable using this whenever they want. I am going to do some research on fonts and ordering custom stencils. I can fill them with towel, water bottle, customized or Rosemary coozie, 30A sticker, etc. I am planning on DIYing this, instead of getting them custom made!

That is enough for now! I am working on finishing one project at a time (a 2013 resolution) to prevent having too many unfinished projects :) Visit my Pinterest Wedding Board for more inspirational wedding photos.
