DIY Christmas Gifts

Yay! The holiday season quickly approached and it is time for some gift inspiration! I always have to do a few DIY gifts to keep the giving season extra fun. This year, I found myself stumped thinking of gift ideas for my future in-laws. Specifically, my fiance’s mother and sister. After seeing these amazing free printables, I knew these beautiful recipe cards would be a perfect gift! AND since I would soon be joining their family, it would be special for me to give them one of my own family recipes! Honey Bee Invites created the free printable and also has the most beautiful recipe card box on their etsy shop!

Below are some inspiration photos for me to get working on this weekend!

How perfect are those cards in the wooden box? LOVE it. I also thought the cards would be cute with a cookbook, or fun cooking utensil! They have given me plenty of ideas :)

Another beautiful DIY gift I stumbled upon were these Anthropologie Inspired Snow Globes. I absolutely love them! They would be a great “filler” gift for those people that you simply don’t know well enough to buy for or maybe wanted to add a personal touch to a generic gift (i.e. gift card).

I  love how festive they are for the season but also can be personalized by who the recipient it! Mason Jars and fake snow are so inexpensive, and there are endless options for the trinket you add inside!

Can’t wait to get started on these weekend projects!

Will you be my Bridesmaid?

My most favorite project yet! Why? Because I get to ask the most amazing women in the world to stand by my side when I marry the most perfect man in the world! Cheesy, I know! I have seen some very creative ways to ask your girls to be your bridesmaids but I wanted my own special spin on it.

{I had previous inspiration from this Honey Bee Invites must-read blog post!}

I used little wooden boxes (from Hobby Lobby) and included some special little treats! I bought Rifle Paper Co. stationary cards to accompany my wooden boxes. These were perfect! Rustic but pretty. I used ink & stamps to include the wedding date and other fun touches inside the boxes.

I filled the bottom of the boxes with sand, seashells and glitter (duh). Because I am getting married in May and in Rosemary Beach, Florida.. I found the perfect gifts. I added Chanel “MAY” nail polish, “SEASHELL” lipgloss & “NOIR” waterproof mascara. I was so happy to find these fabulously perfect additions!

What do you think? I hope my bridesmaids love them as much as I do!

Invites, Invites, Invites

I am alive! This post (any post for that matter) is long overdue. My trusty ole’ Macbook hit it’s life expectancy a few months ago and as many of you know, it is near impossible to blog without it! Thankfully, my amazing fiance got me a Macbook Pro for Christmas!

I am back.

In the past few months, I have hosted a few different showers and I wanted to share the pretty (and DIY) invites I used! These were so simple to do and easy on the budget! I used free printables from Wedding Chicks for each of my invites. I used a local printing company to print on my linen paper for best results!

My other “must-do” trick is to run your envelopes through the printer and download a fabulous, free font to add a special touch to the invite! If you ask me, this makes all the difference. These invites set the tone for each event and actually helped figuring out color schemes and decor.

Feel free to comment with any questions using free printables!
